For this project, I created an original typeface named 'Cybernetics'. To promote the typeface I designed a multi-purpose image (shown here as a poster). For the text I created a chrome effect. A chrome effect in Photoshop is all about stacking layer styles so the text reflects light the way polished metal does. This was achieved using Bevel & Emboss, Contours, and Gradients working together to simulate shiny highlights and deep shadows. I wanted to convey a futuristic feel for the font and a chrome effect worked well for this.
